Pass the USPTO registration examination — patentability, prosecution, appeals, and PTO rules of practice, open-book on the MPEP. Adaptive practice on application-style items that test finding and applying the right rule, every question grounded in a specific MPEP section, 35 U.S.C. statute, or 37 CFR rule of practice.
This is the whole difference. Get one wrong and you won't just see the answer — you'll meet the tutor.

Every question targets the topic where you're weakest — weighted by blueprint share, your ability, and recency. The hours you put in actually move the needle.
Wrong answers summon a coach that asks "what made you pick B?" and walks you to the reasoning over a few turns — not a one-line answer key you forget by the next question.
Sourced from primary federal regulations and study guides — re-ingested on a schedule, never loosely paraphrased.
The USPTO registration examination (“the Patent Bar”) is the gate to becoming a registered patent agent or patent attorney. It’s a 100-question, multiple-choice, computer-delivered exam — and it is open-book on the MPEP. That doesn’t make it easy: the first-time pass rate hovers around 50%, the exam fee plus testing-center seat is not cheap, and a failed sitting means another wait and another fee.
The exam is drawn exclusively from the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP), 35 U.S.C., and 37 CFR. The questions are application-style — they test whether you can find and apply the right rule, not whether you’ve memorized it:
Candidates assume open-book means easy. It doesn’t. With ~100 questions and a finite clock, you can’t look everything up — you have to know the MPEP’s structure cold so you can navigate straight to the controlling section. The exam is engineered around procedural precision: an exact deadline, the right review route (rejection → PTAB vs objection → petition), the correct AIA prior-art classification. Miss the section and you burn time you don’t have.

No app can guarantee a pass — anyone who promises that is lying to you. What we can do is target your weak topics, teach the reasoning behind every miss, and give you an honest readiness signal before you sit the exam. Most candidates who reach "ready" on our diagnostic pass on the first try.
Yes. Questions are generated and checked against the current Patent Bar source documents, then re-ingested on a schedule when those documents change. We don't ship loosely paraphrased material.

The question pool tracks the current federal source documents. When the regulations update, the affected questions are regenerated and re-verified — and your access carries through it.
This is a federal credential, so the question pool is scoped to exactly the federal knowledge sections you'll be tested on — no state variations to worry about.
